Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Ambulatory Infusion Manager, this position provides secretarial support for the Ambulatory Infusion service.
Will obtain insurance authorizations, act as receptionist, answer phones, do filing, type correspondence, computer data entry, ordering supplies, and other general office duties.
Will also do fill-in courier deliveries.
Essential Functions:
Gather needed information for new AIP patients.
Verify Insurance and get preauthorizations, including TARS as needed.
Verify diagnosis and treatment codes.
Schedule AIP visits with patients, staff, and hospital utilizing the department electronic calendar.
Also entails calling patients to schedule and reschedule appointments.
Preregister patient into Meditech.
Greet patients and family as they arrive.
Complete registration in Meditech, obtain consents, and verify insurance information.
Provide new patients with start of care packet and begin process of completion.
Bring patients into treatment rooms as needed.
Schedule outpatient visits for PICC placement using the Meditech scheduling system.
Answer phones for the Ambulatory Infusion department.
Enter data and other information into the various computer systems used by Ambulatory Infusion.
Do filing, typing, and other general office duties.
Process incoming and outgoing department mail.
Order supplies, and keep the department stocked.
Maintain patient charts according to department standards.
Do fill-in and relief courier function.
Will sometimes need to use personal car, and may use company vehicle when availableSkills:
Able to maintain excellent public relations with everyone encountered.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Ensure the accuracy of all task performed.
Competency in basic computer operation, such as word processing and Windows.
Drive safely and courteously when performing courier services.
Preferred familiarity with the computer programs:

Education:

Diploma or GED Coursework/Training - Training in basic computer operation.
Experience:
1 year General office experience.
Licenses/Certifications:
Current California Driver's License.
Automobile insurance.
