Summary:
Under the immediate supervision and authority of the Supply Chain Manager/Supervisor and with independent judgment and initiative, the Distribution Technician is technically competent, demonstrates and adheres to department standards, and serves as an administrative, clinical and/or technical resource.
The Distribution Clerk performs duties of inventory, receiving, pulling supply orders, departmental deliveries, expired product audits, freight stocking/put away, issues supplies within the PMM computer system, maintains cleanliness of the storeroom, filing receiving documents, service walk-in customers as needed, telephone requests from clinical areas and ship outbound Fed Ex/UPS.
Materials Management staff are authorized to access medication storage areas for the purpose of stocking supplies and equipment that may also be housed in the storage areas, as well as stocking intravenous fluids and irrigation solutions.
Essential Functions:
Assists in the ordering, storing and issuing of supplies and equipment.
Fills and delivers orders.
Adjusts departmental and nursing PAR levels based on usage on an on-going basis in collaboration with clinical unit coordinators.
Ensures that appropriate supplies and equipment are available, accounted for and used in a cost-effective manner.
Files records and completes required documents.
Assists with hospital inventories, maintenance of appropriate inventory values and resolution of invoice discrepancies.
Assists in training new employees.

Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and employees of SJHS-HC, both in person and by telephone.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Proficient in keyboard and calculator skills.
Able to perform repetitive, standardized tasks of counting and issuing materials.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Ability to complete receiving and shipping documents correctly and efficientlyMinimum Position Requirements:

Diploma or GED
Experience:
Verifiable combinations of inventory, shelf stocking, delivery, product receiving, order picking/fulfillment.
PC and keyboarding experience.
Licenses/Certifications:
Current and valid CA Driver's License.
